I love spring! It’s my favorite season.  But in all honesty, I say that about every season, so maybe it’s not my favorite season after all. No, it is. Maybe Fall is. No definitely it’s spring. Yes, I’m sure. Almost.

Hello blog, long time no see . I never thought I would be the person who apologizes on the blog for light posting and you know what I am NOT that person, lack of readership rocks! !

Moving on, This is the last picture of Point Cabrillo I’m going to post on the blog, I’m only uploading it now because this one happens to be one of my favorite pictures and also because I have been lazy and haven’t clicked any new ones but let’s stick with the first reason.

I have also been distracted by Franny and Zooey which is such a delight to read that I’m almost scared to finish the book, does that happen to anyone else?

Let’s hope this period of silence was the last one this blog witnesses and let’s learn from our mistakes, laziness is never a good idea (Do you hear R? ).

I wish
I was as busy

I wrote this poem a long time ago, almost 8-9 months. Had to post it to end the “silent” spree as pointed out recently by a friend

DO you think it means that I’m a pessimistic person if I picture coming down these stairs ? I hope not, but even if that was the case I don’t think it would be entirely in-accurate, I would say I’m a cautiously optimistic person .

So are you a glass half full or half empty kind of a person?

Let’s see if you can solve this, if there are 70 birds sitting on a pole and a shooter aims at one and fires the gun, how many birds remain on the pole?

Answer: zero. Because they all fly away hearing the gun shot .

I did not make up this puzzle, I heard it a long time ago when I was a kid (ok not that  long time ago ).

I was planning to show more pictures of the Point Cabrillo lighthouse but then I have decided against it, not because I thought it would be boring but mostly because I got distracted by pictures of railroad tracks and birds on cables (which i would be putting up shortly).

So here you go, the last picture of Point Cabrillo on this blog (till I get distracted again ). It really is a beautiful place and photography wise very very versatile.

I must have taken at least 50 pictures of this lighthouse all from different angles and I just can not decide which one do I like best so I’m thinking maybe I’ll upload some of the other ones too (there are definite advantages to having a blog ).

The lighthouse is called Point Cabrillo lighthouse and it’s only 3.5 miles north of Mendocino. Beautiful place and an absolute must visit. Did you know that all the lighthouses on one side of the coast have different time intervals between each rotation of the light to let the ships know which area they are in. This one has a gap of around 10 seconds between each rotation and the point arena lighthouse has a 6 second interval. Fascinating isn’t it, or maybe it’s just me .

We went to Mendocino for the Valentines day weekend, it’s a small town up north of San Francisco and it IS gorgeous!!!! This is the first time when I am missing a vacation after coming back, I want to go back and I want to live there.

Anyway, this picture is of the Point Arena Lighthouse, it is the tallest lighthouse in California so obviously they charge you $7.50 just to go up and realize it’s not that tall . But seriously, I think lighthouses are great, they are all old-worldy (it’s a word ) and romantic. Besides I have wanted to see a working lighthouse ever since I read Marianne Dreams when I was a kid, it was called “The magic drawing Pencil” originally.

I also went to another lighthouse later, I’ll upload that next.
